Two Malaysian Representatives Stopped at Canada Open 2025 Quarterfinals

Malaysia’s performance in international badminton tournaments continues to yield unsatisfactory results — their last two representatives were eliminated in the quarterfinals of Canada Open 2025 held at Markham Pan Am Centre, Ontario.

Eogene Ewe and Wong Ling Ching failed to advance their campaign in the Maple country after both lost in rubber game matches. This result further worsens Malaysia’s record following their complete failure at the US Open last week.

Wong Ling Ching showed initial promise against second-seeded Vietnamese player Nguyen Thuy Linh. Despite winning the first game and leading 16-12 in the second — the Malaysian player ultimately had to concede defeat to her opponent.
