According to Bolasport.com, two Korean Volleyball League coaches who maintain a close relationship are experiencing different moments at the end of the 2024-2025 season — Ko Hee-jin of Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks and Kim Jong-min of Gimcheon Korea Expressway Hi-Pass.

Ko Hee-jin, who is the junior to Kim Jong-min — coach of the 2022-2023 Korean Volleyball League champions — must accept the bitter reality of Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi‘s departure as she decides to return to Indonesia.

Nevertheless, Megawati’s presence over two seasons has brought significant impact for Red Sparks:

  • Last season reached playoffs after a seven-year wait
  • This season made it to the finals for the first time in 13 years

Megawati is confirmed not to rejoin Red Sparks for the 2025-2026 season, ending a remarkable era with the team nicknamed Red Force.
