Two Indonesian women’s doubles face tough challenge at Japan Open 2025

Two Indonesian women’s doubles pairs — Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi and Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti — face significant challenges at Japan Open 2025 due to their non-seeded contestant status in this BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament.

Lanny/Fadia, currently ranked 20th in the world, will start their campaign against Australian pair — Gronya Somerville/Angela Yu who hold the 43rd position. If successful, they could meet Chinese representatives — Li Yi Jing/Lui Xu Min in the second round.

Meanwhile, Febriana/Amallia, ranked 10th globally, will face American Continental champions — Lauren Lam/Allison Lee in the first round. Both Indonesian pairs have not previously encountered their respective opponents in competition.

Somerville/Yu’s best achievement includes reaching the Singapore Open 2025 quarterfinals — another Super 750 level tournament. Lanny/Fadia, who are Thailand Masters champions, will look to leverage their experience since partnering last October.
