Two Indonesian players leave English leagues ahead of new season

English football leagues will see a decrease in Indonesian players — from five to three ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Justin Hubner and Nathan Tjoe-A-On have decided to leave their English clubs. Hubner parts ways with Wolverhampton Wanderers after his contract expired, while Tjoe-A-On was released despite having one year remaining on his deal.

“Justin Hubner will seek new challenges away from Compton Park this summer,” stated Wolves’ official announcement.

Hubner never made a first-team appearance for Wolves — his best achievement was making the matchday squad against Arsenal last season. Before these departures, English leagues had five Indonesian players consisting of:

  • Elkan Baggott
  • Justin Hubner
  • Nathan Tjoe-A-On
  • Ole Romeny
  • Marselino Ferdinan
