Two goalkeepers cut from Indonesia U-23 team, Cahya Supriadi leads as main candidate

According to Bolasport.com, the Indonesia U-23 national team coaching staff has made important decisions regarding the goalkeeper position — two names have been removed from the player list.

Cahya Supriadi shows promising performance and emerges as the strongest candidate for the main goalkeeper position in the squad being prepared for the 2025 ASEAN Cup U-23.

From the six initially called-up goalkeepers:

  • Cahya Supriadi
  • Daffa Fasya
  • Erlangga Setyo
  • M Ardiansyah
  • Husna Al Malik
  • Putra Sheva Sanggasi

Senior team goalkeeper coaches, Sjoerd Woudenberg and Damian van Rensburg, who were assigned to assist the U-23 team — decided to cut Husna Al Malik from Persik Kediri and Putra Sheva Sanggasi from Persib Bandung after three days of evaluation.

Unlike the senior team which has diaspora goalkeepers like Emil Audero and Maarten Paes — this U-23 squad relies on local talent to guard the goal in the tournament taking place next month.
