Ty Dillon of Kaulig Racing and Ty Gibbs of Joe Gibbs Racing — two drivers yet to claim a Cup victory — will battle for a $1 million prize at next week’s Brickyard 400.

Dillon, who started this five-week challenge as the bottom seed in the #10 Chevrolet, has defeated several veteran drivers at Dover:

  • Denny Hamlin
  • Brad Keselowski
  • Alex Bowman
  • John Hunter Nemechek

“It was quite the battle all day… We had a good restart on the #47, took it three-wide and then chaos ensued,” Dillon told NASCAR on TNT.

Meanwhile, Gibbs in the #54 Toyota secured his final spot after defeating Justin Haley, A.J. Allmendinger, Zane Smith, and Tyler Reddick. In Dover’s closing laps, his strategy of fresh right-side tires proved effective in passing Reddick.

The two drivers will meet at Indianapolis — a track where last year Dillon finished 19th and Gibbs placed 23rd.
