Turkmenistan Defeats Thailand 3-1 in 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers

Turkmenistan stunned Thailand with a 3-1 victory in the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers at the Ashgabat Stadium. Despite Thailand holding a higher FIFA ranking — 99 compared to 142 — they failed to prove their dominance on the field.

Titow opened the scoring for the home side in the first minute before Supachai Chaided equalized in the 35th minute. However, Saparmammedow quickly restored Turkmenistan’s lead just two minutes later, and Saparow sealed the victory in the 66th minute.

This result puts Thailand in second place in Group D with three points — trailing Turkmenistan, who now lead the table by three points. In the other Group D match, Malaysia hosted Vietnam at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.
