Tundra Esports Withdraws from ESL DreamLeague Season 26

In a surprising turn of event, Tundra Esports has decided to withdraw from the upcoming ESL DreamLeague Season 26, scheduled to commence on May 19.

The news was confirmed by ESL organizers, who issued an official announcement on their website. As per tournament regulations, Tundra will face penalties for canceling their participation, including a 20% deduction of their ESL Pro Tour points. Their points have been reduced from 8,813 to 7,050, causing them to drop to 6th place on the ESL Pro Tour Leaderboard, now sitting below Team Liquid, who hold 7,830 points.

Tundra’s management has yet to release a statement regarding the reasons behind their withdrawal or the point deduction. Some fans speculate this is a strategic decision to balance rest and preparation time ahead of the 2025 Esports World Cup, which is roughly two months away.

Tundra is not the first team to withdraw from ESL DreamLeague Season 26. Team Spirit made a similar decision in March, opting to prioritize rest and training. Navi Junior and Team Liquid have been invited as their replacements in the tournament.
