Tundra Esports Blunders Cost Their Ticket to Dota 2 EWC 2025 Grand Final

Tundra Esports’ run in the Dota 2 EWC 2025 finally ended at the hands of Team Falcons in tonight’s semifinal, as their opponents played their cards patiently and smartly to turn the tide against them.

This loss surprised many viewers, especially since Tundra held early advantages in both games. Unfortunately, their hesitation to push their aggression further, combined with Falcons’ smart draft choices, shut down Tundra’s momentum in the late game.

Game 1 saw Tundra dominate, making it hard for Falcons to match their play from the early to mid game. However, shortly after securing an objective at the 27-minute mark, Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov miscalculated his chances and forced a risky team fight in Falcons’ territory, which ended in defeat.

This moment gave Falcons’ carry, Oliver “skiter” Lepko, a crucial influx of gold, which he quickly used to strengthen his item build. Soon after, Falcons overcame their 4k gold deficit, overtook the total kills to 25-24, and closed out the game with a win after 44 minutes.

Game 2 started with Tundra dominated the early to mid stages again, this time with a larger lead and kill advantage. Unfortunately, their hesitation to finish the game around the 41-minute mark backfired, allowing Falcons to catch up on crucial items.

Relying on effective counter-attacks led by Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf, Falcons pressured Tundra and seized key objectives multiple times. This forced the game to drag on to the 80-minute mark, where Falcons once again closed out the late game for the win.

This result sends Falcons to the final against Team Spirit to decide the EWC 2025 champion this afternoon (July 19). Meanwhile, Tundra will face Parivision later the same day to determine third place.
