Yuki Tsunoda reveals his main focus ahead of the Bahrain GP — better understanding of tire preparation for the Red Bull RB21 car.

After replacing Liam Lawson at Red Bull Racing, the Japanese driver experienced a mixed debut at his home race — qualifying P15 but managing to finish 12th in a race with limited overtaking opportunities.

“I am looking forward to being in Bahrain this weekend and having time to fully focus on racing with my Team. Japan was a crazy week with very busy preparation,” stated Tsunoda.

The Bahrain circuit presents different characteristics from Suzuka — a track with high tire demands due to long straights and heavy braking zones. The 24-year-old driver emphasizes the importance of quick adaptation to these different conditions.

“I learnt so much across the weekend in Suzuka, I understand the RB21 so much better now and also how the Team operate in different ways to what I have been used to. It’s down to me to apply that now and make sure I can perform,” he added.

Following Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko’s expectations, Tsunoda understands his task — to perform as close as possible to Max Verstappen to support the constructors’ championship battle.
