Trent Alexander-Arnold ready to be unveiled as new Real Madrid player

Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to begin a new chapter in his career — the England international defender will be presented as a Real Madrid player on Thursday after signing a contract until 2031.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez will lead the unveiling ceremony at the Valdebebas training complex — the 26-year-old will face his first press conference as a Los Blancos player.

This move ends Alexander-Arnold’s 20-year association with Liverpool, where he established himself as one of the world’s premier full-backs. His achievements with The Reds include:

  • 2019 Champions League title
  • Two Premier League titles (2020, 2025)
  • Total of nine major trophies

Real Madrid paid approximately €10 million to secure the services of the player who has represented England at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, as well as Euro 2024.

Madrid’s new coach Xabi Alonso has also brought in center-back Dean Huijsen to strengthen the team’s defense ahead of the Club World Cup tournament in the United States.

“I needed a new challenge,” stated Alexander-Arnold when confirming his decision not to extend his contract at Anfield.
