Tragedy on A-52: Diogo Jota dies in car accident in Spain

Spanish and Portuguese media have confirmed the identity of the vehicle in the fatal accident that claimed the life of Liverpool striker Diogo Jota in Spain.

The tragic incident occurred on the A-52 highway near Cernadilla region, Zamora Province — the 28-year-old player died after midnight alongside his brother Andre Silva.

The cause of the accident is believed to be a tire burst during an overtaking attempt — the vehicle lost control before hitting a barrier and crashing into roadside trees.

The severely burned condition of the vehicle complicated the identification process — local authorities could only recognize the car type through the remaining license plate and wheel rims.
