Tragedy in Tennessee: Ole Miss player Corey Adams killed in shooting

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Corey Adams, an Ole Miss freshman football player, died in a shooting incident in Cordova, Tennessee — a suburb of Memphis. The tragic event claimed Adams’ life at the scene, while four others suffered gunshot wounds and are currently receiving hospital treatment.

Adams, aged 18, was a defensive lineman from New Orleans who joined Ole Miss this past winter. His achievements include earning all-state honors twice while attending Edna Karr High School.

“While our program is trying to cope with this tragic loss, our thoughts are with his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” Ole Miss stated through social media.

Shelby County sheriff’s deputies who arrived at the scene stopped a car at an intersection near the shooting location. They found Adams inside the vehicle and immediately provided life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived — but Adams was pronounced dead.
