Tragedy at Algerian Stadium: Death Toll Rises to Four

MC Alger has confirmed the death toll has risen to four following a tragic incident at the 5 July Stadium in Algiers — when an upper stand barrier collapsed during the club’s top-flight league victory celebration.

The fourth victim died in hospital after receiving intensive care for serious injuries. Previously, one fan had died at the scene — while two others lost their lives the following day.

Local media reported that the incident occurred when a barrier in the upper stands malfunctioned. El Heddaf TV posted video footage showing the section of railing collapsing onto the lower tier.
