Toyota Leads Second Le Mans Practice After AF Corse Penalty

Sebastien Buemi in the Toyota GR010 HYBRID leads the second free practice session of Le Mans 24 Hours — after AF Corse 499P lost its best time due to pit lane speed violation.

Buemi’s lap of 3m26.156s gave him a half-second advantage over the Jota team’s Cadillac V-Series.R — driven by Norman Nato who posted 3m26.607s.

An incident occurred as the checkered flag fell at midnight — when the number 8 Toyota driven by Ryo Hirakawa collided with Kessel Racing’s Ferrari 296 GT3 at the Porsche curves.

In LMP2 class, AO by TF’s ORECA maintained its lead thanks to Dane Cameron’s 3m37.515s time — more than a second ahead of United Autosports car driven by Pietro Fittipaldi.

Lexus dominated the LMGT3 category with Auto Sport Promotion team’s two professional drivers. Jose Maria Lopez and Jack Hawksworth were separated by just seven hundredths in their RC F GT3s.

Third free practice begins Thursday at 14:45, followed by two Hyperpole qualifying sessions starting at 20:00.
