Four days after their victory in Frankfurt, Ange Postecoglou had to swallow a bitter pill as Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest at home.

The London side conceded two goals within the first 16 minutes — despite dominating much of the game afterward and grabbing a late consolation goal through Richarlison. The defeat marks their 18th loss of the Premier League season.

With a challenging schedule ahead, including next week’s trip to Liverpool, Tottenham now sits in 16th place with 37 points. Only the three clubs currently in the relegation zone have recorded more losses this season.

“It’s another game we shouldn’t have lost and it’s been a big part of our season — we’re making things very difficult for ourselves in key moments,” said Postecoglou.

Although the team was booed by some fans at halftime, the atmosphere inside the stadium improved slightly toward the end of the match after the home side showed flashes of entertaining, attacking football.

Despite the frustration, Tottenham’s ability to create chances remains a positive sign — but time is running out for the team to turn performances into results, as the threat of relegation becomes increasingly real.
