Tottenham agree to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich

Mathys Tel is set to become a permanent Tottenham Hotspur player after the North London club reached an agreement with Bayern Munich — ESPN sources confirm.

The 20-year-old striker previously joined Spurs on loan in January with a 60 million euro purchase option — however both clubs successfully negotiated a lower price of 40 million euros including bonuses.

The French U-21 international has agreed personal terms until June 2031 — becoming the first recruitment under new coach Thomas Frank. During his loan spell, Tel recorded three goals and one assist from 20 appearances across all competitions.

Bayern Munich previously signed Tel from Rennes in summer 2022 for 30 million euros — where he started his professional career and made his Ligue 1 debut at age 16.
