Tottenham agree permanent deal with Bayern Munich for Mathys Tel

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich for the permanent transfer of French U-21 international Mathys Tel — ending his loan spell that began earlier this year.

After joining on loan in January with a €60 million purchase option, the 20-year-old striker will complete his move to the Europa League winners for a reduced fee — €40 million including bonuses.

The Paris-born player has agreed personal terms with Spurs until June 2031. During his loan period, Tel registered three goals and one assist from 20 appearances across all competitions.

New Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has made Tel his first recruitment since taking charge. Previously, Bayern Munich acquired Tel from Rennes — the club that developed him and where he made his Ligue 1 debut at age 16 — for €30 million in summer 2022.
