Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifier, Australia’s national head coach, Tony Popovic, discussed the team’s preparations to face Indonesia at Allianz Stadium in Sydney tomorrow.

The Socceroos — who recently drew with Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in their last two Group C matches — are determined to secure a victory to improve their position in the standings.

Tony Popovic acknowledges that Indonesia’s National Team now possesses different strengths — as players competing for careers abroad pose a serious threat to Australia.

“Indonesian players competing overseas cannot be underestimated; they are key players who could cause us difficulties,” said Popovic.

The Australian coach also emphasized that Indonesia’s national team has shown significant improvement — as evidenced by their ability to challenge strong opponents.
