Tomas Rosicky Hospitalized Due to Heart Issues

Sparta Prague has officially announced that Tomas Rosicky, the club’s sporting director and former Czech international, was hospitalized last week due to an unexpected heart condition.

The club confirmed that no surgery was required, and Rosicky has since been discharged and is currently recovering at home under medical supervision.

Rosicky Admits Lifestyle Habits Played a Role

“As a player and sporting director, I’ve always given everything. However, this situation has shown me that I need to take better care of myself. Poor lifestyle habits, lack of physical activity, and hereditary factors unfortunately brought me to this condition,” said Rosicky in an official club statement.

The 43-year-old former midfielder also expressed his gratitude for the support he has received and will maintain contact with club colleagues during his recovery.

Sivok Appointed as Interim Sporting Director

During Rosicky’s recovery, Tomáš Sivok has been appointed as the interim sporting director of Sparta Prague.

Rosicky began his football journey with Sparta Prague before moving to Borussia Dortmund and then Arsenal, where he made 170 appearances and won two FA Cups. He retired in 2017 and returned to Sparta as a club official shortly afterward.
