Timothy Weah rejects contract offer from Nottingham Forest

Timothy Weah has decided to reject a contract offer from Nottingham Forest — leading the Premier League club to end their recruitment efforts.

Juventus and Forest had actually reached a transfer agreement worth €22 million for a player package including Weah and Samuel Mbangula, but the United States national team striker opted to wait for other opportunities to leave Turin.

Juventus, who purchased Weah from Lille about two years ago, currently hopes to offload the 25-year-old player — despite having three years remaining on his contract — to make room for new signings.

Weah’s performance at Juventus hasn’t been as impressive as his compatriot Weston McKennie, with five goals from 30 Serie A appearances last season. His total statistics with Juventus amount to seven goals and six assists from 78 matches.
