Timothy Weah could follow father’s footsteps at Marseille

According to ESPN, Marseille are negotiating with Juventus to sign United States forward Timothy Weah. The 25-year-old is interested in joining the club where his father, George Weah, played in 2000.

Juventus has set a price tag between €15 million and €20 million for the versatile player who is contracted until June 2028 — personal terms are expected to be agreed soon.

Weah started his career in Paris Saint-Germain’s academy before playing for Lille, where he appeared in 107 matches scoring eight goals. Juventus then recruited him for €11 million in summer 2023 — during his two seasons in Turin, he has played 78 times and scored seven goals.

Last month, the player with 44 caps and seven goals for the US national team rejected Nottingham Forest’s offer — despite both clubs agreeing to a €22 million transfer that also included Samuel Mbangula.
