Tim Robinson’s 75 Leads New Zealand to Victory Over South Africa in Tri-Series

Tim Robinson delivered a stellar performance with an unbeaten 75 — leading New Zealand to a 21-run victory over South Africa in the T20I tri-series in Zimbabwe.

A crucial partnership formed between Robinson and debutant Bevon Jacobs that produced 103 runs for the sixth wicket — New Zealand’s second-highest record for that position. They managed to lift the team’s score from a difficult 70/5 to 173/5.

“It’s a great feeling contributing to a win for your country and it’s an addicting feeling — one that I hope to replicate later on,” expressed Robinson.

Quick running between wickets proved key to victory — New Zealand managed 29 singles and 6 doubles, outperforming South Africa’s 21 singles and 3 doubles. The team also impressed in the final overs, collecting 95 runs from the last nine overs.

“The longer we spent at the crease, the easier runs would come. We tried to take it as deep as we possibly could and then run hard to the long side,” Robinson explained about their strategy.

New Zealand will face hosts Zimbabwe in their next match today — a different challenge they must quickly adapt to.
