Thousands of athletes gather in Samarinda for KONI-Bayan Championship II

KONI-Bayan Championship II/2025 has officially commenced at GOR Segiri, Samarinda — marking the start of a promising multi-sport event for Indonesia.

The opening ceremony featured a symbolic button-pressing ceremony by key figures, including Marciano Norman as KONI Central Chairman, Ir. Seno Aji as East Kalimantan Deputy Governor, and Prof.Dr.H. Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara from PT Bayan Resources Tbk.

This event, a collaboration between Central KONI and PT Bayan Resources Tbk, features four sports disciplines with a total of 6515 athletes:

• Karate with 1800 athletes
• Taekwondo with 1215 athletes
• Pencak Silat with 1500 athletes
• Football with 2000 athletes

The Karate competition has begun at GOR Segiri and continues until July 2 — followed by the Taekwondo competition scheduled to start on July 4.
