Thomas Preining claims dramatic victory in DTM Norisring series

Manthey Porsche driver Thomas Preining — secured victory in the second DTM Norisring race after starting from sixth position.

The race was marked by a dramatic incident at the first corner involving multiple cars — resulting in a red flag being shown to clear the track.

After the restart behind the safety car, intense competition unfolded between Thierry Vermeulen, Jack Aitken, and Preining. Perfect pit stop strategy from the Manthey team enabled Preining to take the race lead.

“I’m obviously very happy with this hard-fought victory today,” stated Preining. “A fantastic start from sixth to third, followed by a brutal battle with Jack that was fair and great entertainment for the fans.”

The podium positions were filled by Preining as winner, followed by Aitken in second place, and Vermeulen in third position. In the drivers’ standings, Preining now shares points with Jordan Pepper — both trailing championship leader Lucas Auer by seven points.

The next DTM series will take place at the Nurburgring circuit in August.
