Thierry Neuville Criticizes Hankook Tires at Acropolis Rally Greece

Thierry Neuville has expressed sharp criticism of Hankook tires used in the WRC championship — their quality is deemed below expected standards at the Acropolis Rally Greece.

The Belgian driver experienced a series of tire issues that resulted in dropping from rally leader to seventh position — nearly all Rally1 drivers suffered tire damage or punctures while traversing the rough gravel stages.

“The tires are not on the level. If you see why we puncture, it’s just insane. Playing on that level with such a product is not possible,” Neuville told reporters.

As WRC’s new official tire supplier replacing Pirelli, Hankook faces their toughest test in Greece — track conditions are significantly rougher due to prolonged dry weather.

Responding to the criticism, Hankook spokesperson Steven Cho stated they understand drivers’ frustration and will continue development. He noted that the Greek Rally indeed presents this season’s biggest challenge with more extreme stage conditions and temperatures than previous years.
