A recent Reddit post has exposed a bizarre incident that happened during the December 2024 Dota 2 Fissure tournament, commenting that pro player David “Parker” Nicho Flores falling asleep mid-competition.

At the time, Parker was loaned to Mosquito Clan while inactive from his main team, Heroic. The young Peruvian carry had stepped in for Yheremi “payk” Arroyo prior to a match against OG on the third day of the online tournament.

Amid the match, tournament organizers paused the game for 10 minutes after Parker was reported AFK. Despite repeated attempts to contact him, Parker remained unresponsive. After nearly 60 seconds of in-game time elapsed, Mosquito Clan was forced to forfeit, handing OG a 2-0 victory.

Mosquito Clan’s management later addressed the incident on social media, attributing Parker’s unresponsiveness to a significant time-zone disparity between Peru and Europe.

“By the time of the match against OG, it was already around 5 AM in Peru, and Parker wasn’t prepared in advance to play Dota all night. Unfortunately, at the most crucial moment, he simply didn’t have the energy to finish the game – the human factor is always unpredictable. We would also like to apologize to the organizers of Fissure Special for this accidental technical loss, as well as to the fans who were looking forward to the match.”

As of now, Parker is a regular at Team Secret, alongside his idol, the legendary captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov. However, the team has yet to hit its stride, struggling to establish a consistent roster and repeatedly falling short in qualifiers for major tournaments.
