Thailand U-23 national team falls to UAE in friendly match

Thailand U-23 national team under coach Takayuki Nishigaya had to acknowledge UAE’s superiority with a 1-2 score in a friendly match at Thammasat Stadium.

In a tightly contested game, UAE managed to take the lead through Mayeed Saeed’s goal in the 35th minute — but Thailand equalized through Yotsakon Burapha in the 50th minute.

The match seemed headed for a draw before Dhari Farhad scored the winning goal for UAE in injury time.

This friendly match was part of Thailand’s preparation series for three important tournaments — ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 in Indonesia, AFC U-23 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers, and SEA Games 2025.

The ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 itself is scheduled to take place in Indonesia starting mid-July.
