Thailand falls in AVC Nations Cup, Indonesia gains momentum

Thailand’s national volleyball team experienced their first defeat in the 2025 AVC Nations Cup tournament taking place at Isa bin Rashid Hall, Isa Town, Bahrain.

The SEA V League defending champions displayed subpar performance — facing the host nation Bahrain with a final result of 1-3 (21-25, 25-21, 19-25, 22-25).

Kissada Nilsawai failed to maximize his blocks, while the signature serves of Anurak Phanram were effectively contained by the home team. Thailand only managed to secure the second set — before losing momentum again in the third and fourth sets.

Bahrain immediately showed dominance from the match start — leading with a 10-5 advantage in this rematch of the 2023 AVC Challenge Cup final. This defeat puts Thailand in an unfavorable position ahead of their match against Indonesia.
