Thailand eliminated from U-17 Asian Cup after loss to Saudi Arabia

Thailand U-17 national team has been eliminated from the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup after suffering a 1-3 defeat against Saudi Arabia at King Fahd Stadium, Taif, as reported by Siam Sport.

Jadet Meelarp’s team initially took the lead through Siwakorn’s goal in the 17th minute — but Saudi Arabia managed to turn the game around with three goals scored by Dahal, Sufyani, and Barnawi.

“All players played very hard in this match and tried to fight with all their might,” said Meelarp. “We came to attack and look for counterattacking opportunities, unfortunately in some chances we couldn’t score goals.”

The Thai coach acknowledged his team struggled to cope with the speed of Saudi Arabia’s wingers — which left Thailand’s fullbacks overwhelmed in anticipating the opponents’ attacks.
