TenZ and 39daph Exit Sentinels to Fuel Long-Term Sustainability, Source Says

The departure of two popular Sentinels members, Tyson “Tenz” Ngo and Daphne “39daph,” may finally have an explanation, as recent social media discussions shed light on the state of the North American Valorant team.

Earlier announcements confirmed that TenZ and 39daph have left the Valorant powerhouse after roughly 2.5 years with the organization. Both clarified their intentions to pursue new opportunities elsewhere.

However, Sentinels fans remain puzzled by the decision, given their status as the organization’s icons. From 2021 through late 2024, TenZ had secured several prestigious championships as the team’s star player, while 39daph played a pivotal role in building and nurturing Sentinels’ community.

Wild speculation flooded social media, but no official responses followed—until today. A source close to the organization revealed that the exits stemmed from Sentinels’ efforts to reduce operational costs, which reportedly ballooned over the past year.

The source added that the alternative—slashing the duo’s contract value—was deemed unlikely to succeed. Given their loyalty, performance metrics, and massive social media influence, TenZ and 39daph were unlikely to accept reduced terms.

It’s worth noting that despite Sentinels’ dominance in Valorant esports, the organization remains relatively new to the competitive scene. Long-term sustainability requires strategic resource management to ensure smooth operations moving forward.
