Tensions Rise Between Hocevar and Stenhouse After Mexico Incident

Tensions Rise Between Hocevar and Stenhouse After Mexico Incident

According to recent press conference, Carson Hocevar finds himself in a difficult situation following an incident with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in Mexico City — the young driver spun Stenhouse’s No. 47 Chevrolet while being a lap down.

Stenhouse immediately confronted Hocevar after the race with a clear threat: “I’m gonna beat your ass” once they return to the United States.

“Unfortunately no communication,” Hocevar stated when asked about discussions with Stenhouse. “I’m not sure what I could say — it was just a dumb mistake that didn’t need to happen.”

The Spire Motorsports driver acknowledges he might face retaliation from Stenhouse — either on track or off. Hocevar will start from third position at Pocono, while Stenhouse begins from 30th.

The situation became more complicated when Hocevar received internal sanctions from his team for inappropriate comments about Mexico on Twitch platform — requiring him to pay a $50,000 fine and undergo sensitivity training.
