Telmo Castanheira joins Persik Kediri from Malaysian League

Telmo Castanheira officially joins Persik Kediri — the Portuguese midfielder previously played for Sabah FC in Malaysian League.

The arrival of the 33-year-old player marks a reunion with his former coach Ong Kim Swee who now manages the club nicknamed White Tigers.

“Telmo Castanheira, from Malaysian League to White Tigers,” announced Persik’s official social media account.

Persik Kediri introduced Castanheira through a unique video — featuring Ong Kim Swee making a phone call before his former Sabah FC player appears.

This reunion scenario recalls early 2025, when Ong Kim Swee almost reunited with Saddil Ramdani at Persis Solo after the player’s contract expired at Sabah FC.
