Tejo’s Pick Rate Tanks at Masters Toronto 2025

Tejo, once a nightmare in Valorant competition, has seen his popularity plummet dramatically during the recently concluded Masters Toronto 2025.

Upon his release, Tejo became a versatile, top-tier pick for pro teams thanks to his highly effective kit. He even dominated VCT Americas Stage 1 with a staggering 54.23% pick rate, making him the most popular agent at the time. One name springs to mind is G2 Esports, who relied heavily on Trent “trent” Cairns’ Tejo play all the way to the finals.

But a nerf hammer prior to Masters Toronto changed it all, as Tejo’s pick rate crashed to a mere 3.29% and ranking him among the least-selected agents in the tournament. This dramatic decline signals a significant meta shift, forcing teams to develop entirely new compositions.

This stands in sharp contrast to the previous Masters Bangkok, where Tejo maintained a robust 45.19% pick rate. The agent was a must-pick for teams like G2 Esports and DRX, highlighted by No “freeing” Ha-jun’s impressive performances.

Beyond Tejo, several other agents were notably unpopular in Toronto: Iso (picked 3 times, 2.54%), Skye (3 times, 2.54%), Waylay (2 times, 1.69%), Phoenix (1 time, 0.85%), Clove (1 time, 0.85%), Reyna (0 picks), and Brimstone (0 picks). It will be interesting to see what Riot has in store to make these agents viable again in future competitions.
