Team Vitality’s Historic Win Streak Ended at Austin Major

Team Vitality’s incredible 30-match has ended last night (June 12) at the hands of Legacy in the first round of Stage 3 at the Austin Major.

The loss happened on Inferno, where Vitality won the pistol round but failed to capitalize on that advantage. This allowed Legacy to strike back in the following rounds.

The trio of Bruno “latto” Rebelatto, Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer, and Lucas “lux” Meneghini stole the show, leading Legacy to an 8-1 lead. Vitality mounted a brief comeback, but it wasn’t enough to stop Legacy from winning the first half 9-3.

The Brazilian underdogs didn’t take long to add three more wins in the second half, closing out the match 13-4. As it stands, Legacy now sits at 6th place in the Stage 3 standings, pushing Vitality down to 10th.

This result put an end to Vitality’s impressive winning streak, which started earlier this year. Despite the loss, they still hold the record for the longest win streak since , followed by Ninjas in Pyjamas with 28 consecutive wins.

Furthermore, Vitality still has a chance to qualify for the playoffs starting June 19th, as the Stage 3 format gives teams a longer opportunity to advance.
