France’s CS2 powerhouse Team Vitality once again saw no surprise as they closed out the Austin Major finals this morning with a dramatic 2-1 victory over The MongolZ. The victory solidifies their status as the behemoth of the CS2 esports scene.

This outcome starkly contrasted with The MongolZ’s remarkable underdog story. The Mongolian Pride had stole attention by reaching the finals after taking down popular teams like FaZe Clan and paiN Gaming, with some viewers anticipating an upset after witnessing their impressive mechanical skill.

Unfortunately, the Asian representatives’ fairytale debut met the harsh reality: Vitality always win. While The MongolZ secured a strong 13-5 win on the first map, Mirage, the surprise was short-lived. The Hive quickly tightened their strategies to dominate the next two maps, winning 13-4 on Dust 2 and 13-6 on Inferno.

This victory marks Vitality’s second consecutive BLAST Major circuit win following their Paris Major 2023 triumph, and extends their Tier S tournament winning streak to seven. With two Majors remaining this year, they remain on track to complete their perfect run mission.

Additionally, Vitality is scheduled to compete in the Esports World Cup 2025 in Saudi Arabia this July. Predictably, they will be the primary target for ambitious rivals from all over the world.
