Team Spirit Demolishes Team Falcons to Win Dota 2 EWC 2025

Team Spirit claimed the Dota 2 EWC 2025 trophy last Sunday night (20/07) after a dominant 3-0 victory over Team Falcons in the grand finals.

This decisive win came as a major surprise to many spectators, as Spirit swept the hometown favorites. However, Spirit entered the tournament as strong contenders, justified by their near-flawless run: they dropped only one game throughout the entire event, from the group stage right up to the finals. This stood in stark contrast to Falcons, who were slow to find their form.

The victory secures the Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov-led squad the grand prize of USD $1,000,000. It also serves as a powerful statement for Spirit fans, signaling significant improvement just months before this year’s The International.

Game 1 saw Spirit ruthless efficiency, repeatedly securing crucial objectives amid Falcons’ pressure. Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov showed up with his Lycan and helped his team to cull Falcons during the crucial Roshan’s contest. After roughly 35 minutes of dominance, Spirit forced the GG call with a commanding 22-kill lead.

Game 2, Falcons applied early pressure through Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf (Doom) and Oliver “skiter” Lepko (Sven). However, their struggles to find openings in the late game proved costly as Collapse regained lane rotations. This allowed Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk’s Medusa to snowball, turning the tables decisively, and crushing Falcons to secure their second win at the 40-minute mark.

The final game was a brutal conclusion. Both teams drafted aggressively, but the mid-game phase showcased Spirit’s superior strategic execution. The Russian powerhouse barely broke a sweat, racking up a staggering 48 kills by the 33rd minute with minimal resistance. They eventually forced a second and final GG call from Falcons shortly after.

This victory marks Team Spirit’s first championship in the EWC 2025 circuit and their second major title of the year, following their win at ESL DreamLeague Season 25 in March.
