European esports giant Team Falcons suffered a shockingly early exit from the BLAST.tv CS2 Austin Major 2025 following an intense triple-overtime failure versus MIBR this morning.

Concerns about Falcons’ performance had surfaced on the very first day when they lost both of their best-of-one matches against B8 and Lynn Vision. Their third match against OG offered little hope as they nearly went out 0-3, narrowly beating the underdog team to advance and face MIBR.

Falcons started strong, dominating Ancient 13-6. However, MIBR fought back, making things difficult on Nuke where Falcons lost 9-13. The battle then progressed to the decider match on Inferno, where it turned into a fierce battleground.

Falcons actually had several chances to stage a comeback. But a chaotic 5v3 afterplant situation at match point in the second overtime gave MIBR the breathing room they needed. Falcons’ early lead was ultimately wasted as MIBR closed out the grueling triple overtime, winning 22-20.

The dramatic defeat shattered Falcons’ hopes of reaching Stage 3 and marks their worst Major result to date. Critics are now turning their focus to star players like Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, who carried heavy expectations from the global CS2 community.
