Taufik Hidayat reveals PBSI’s new policy for international tournaments

Taufik Hidayat — PBSI Deputy Chairman — announces important policy changes regarding athlete participation in international tournaments.

This statement was delivered during the Road to OPPO X IOA CHARITY Make Your Moment: From Badminton for All event — a response to Indonesia’s declining performance trend in world badminton.

“PBSI will not randomly send players to tournaments. They must be truly battle-ready to reach finals and achieve results,” states Taufik Hidayat.

This policy emerges after national team athletes experienced difficulties in achieving success at BWF World Tour — particularly at elite levels.

The main focus now turns to the 2025 World Championships in Paris, with high expectations for top athletes like Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in women’s singles.
