Taufik Hidayat issues ultimatum over Indonesia’s poor badminton performance

According to ANTARA, Taufik Hidayat as PBSI Deputy Chairman has issued a stern warning regarding Indonesia’s poor badminton achievements in the first half of 2025.

The nation’s badminton performance has experienced a dramatic decline — only securing two championship titles at BWF World Tour Super 300 level within six months.

These two titles were won by:

  • Women’s doubles pair Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Silva Ramadhanti at Thailand Masters 2025
  • Mixed doubles pair Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu at Taipei Open 2025

“Recent evaluation focused on coaches, not yet on athletes. I have already given an ultimatum. It’s been over six months, don’t just chase rankings, people want championships,” stated Taufik Hidayat.
