Talon Esports and Paper Rex Top Group After Dominant Pacific Stage 2 Openers

Southeast Asian powerhouses Talon Esports and Paper Rex dominated the opening day of VCT Pacific: Stage 2 and secured the top spots in Group Omega.

Playing at the Sangnam Colosseum in South Korea, both teams earned convincing 2-0 victories. For PRX, this win demonstrated impressive mental fortitude and physical readiness, especially coming straight from their participation in EWC 2025 in Saudi Arabia.

The Thailand Pride comfortably faced Boom Esports, the surprise team from Stage 1’s group phase. Although the first map was competitive, the match ended decisively.

The first map on Bind saw Talon started strong in the first half. Boom fought back hard after halftime and nearly equalized, but disciplined play from Talon secured them a late-game 13-8 victory.

In a surprising turn of event, the second map on Icebox turned into thrashing fest as Talon clobbered their opponent into a pulp, quickly building a 10-2 lead by halftime. They maintained relentless pressure, forcing Boom into passivity, and closed out the map decisively 13-3.

Meanwhile, despite potential fatigue from last week’s event, PRX held their ground against South Korean giants T1 in a hard fought battle. The W Gaming forced consecutive overtime rounds on Haven and Lotus, finally winning with extremely close scores of 17-15 and 14-12 respectively.
