Takehiro Tomiyasu agrees to early contract termination with Arsenal

Japan national team defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has officially terminated his contract with Arsenal by mutual agreement — the club announced this on Friday (4/7).

“Thank you, Tomi. We have reached a mutual agreement with Takehiro Tomiyasu to end his contract,” Arsenal wrote on their official social media.

The 26-year-old player joined The Gunners in 2021 from Bologna — his contract was supposed to run until mid-2026. During four seasons with Arsenal, Tomiyasu failed to become a regular starter with only 84 appearances and an average of 55 minutes played per match.
