Sweet debut for Jafar/Felisha at Asian Championships with bronze medal

Indonesian mixed doubles pair, Jafar Hidayatullah and Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, achieved a remarkable feat — securing a bronze medal in their debut at the 2025 Asian Championships.

“We didn’t target a medal as we just wanted to perform our best after being trusted to play in the Asian Championships for the first time,” stated Jafar during an interview at Cipayung national training center, Jakarta.

Their journey to the semifinals featured an intense match — defeating the Chinese pair Chen Xing/Zhang Chi with scores of 14-21, 21-15, 21-19 in a 75-minute battle marked by a red card incident.

“The first round was most memorable due to its intensity,” said Jafar, while Felisha added, “We’re grateful, and although we didn’t set initial targets, we tried to make the best of every opportunity given.”
