Sunderland target Sassuolo winger Armand Laurienté

Premier League newcomers Sunderland — are making approaches to sign winger Armand Laurienté from Sassuolo, according to ESPN sources.

The French player impressed in Serie B last season — scoring 18 goals and providing six assists in 33 appearances for Sassuolo.

Sunderland, who recently secured promotion to the Premier League, have contacted Sassuolo to inquire about Laurienté’s availability. The Italian club is open to offers and would not rule out the player’s departure.

Interestingly, both clubs have just earned promotion to their respective top divisions — with Sassuolo claiming the Serie B title this season.
