National Team Committee Chairman Sumardji has urged Indonesia’s national football team to secure a crucial victory against Bahrain in their 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifiers Group C clash at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK).

“We are here for Garuda, besides family, you are fighting for Indonesia. Tomorrow’s match against Bahrain, you must fight for the Red and White,” said Sumardji.
“We are all family, we must strengthen each other and work together with one goal — we must win.”

The Indonesian squad, led by Patrick Kluivert, currently sits fourth in the standings with six points, trailing three points behind third-placed Saudi Arabia. Indonesia shares equal points with Bahrain and China.

Indonesia’s fight for qualification continues after suffering a heavy 1-5 defeat to Australia in their previous match. Victory against Bahrain will be vital for Indonesia’s hopes of advancing.
