Stewart Friesen disqualified after finishing third in 200th NASCAR Truck race

Stewart Friesen experienced a bitter moment on his special day — a NASCAR Truck Series race that coincided with his 42nd birthday and 200th career start.

Despite leading for 20 laps and finishing third, his No. 52 Halmar-Friesen Racing Chevrolet failed post-race technical inspection due to front height being too low.

As a result of the disqualification, Corey Heim moved up to third position, followed by Grant Enfinger in fourth and Ty Majeski completing the top five. The result changes also affected subsequent rankings:

  • Chandler Smith – sixth position
  • Daniel Hemric – seventh position
  • Tyler Ankrum – eighth position
  • Ross Chastain – ninth position
  • Rajah Caruth – tenth position

“This failure was caused by a part malfunction that occurred during the race by circumstances out of our control,” stated the team in their appeal submission.

Friesen becomes the tenth driver to face a post-race disqualification across NASCAR’s three national divisions this year.
