Stevenson Proves His Worth with Dominant Victory over Zepeda

Shakur Stevenson — the undefeated three-division champion — proved his class with a dominant victory over William Zepeda in their WBC lightweight title fight at Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Despite being placed as co-main event by Saudi Arabia’s Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Alalshikh — a controversial decision given Stevenson’s higher reputation than other participants.

Fight statistics showed Stevenson’s total dominance — he managed to land 52.5% of his punches (295 of 565), while Zepeda only achieved 27.8% (272 of 979).

“I came here to prove a point,” Stevenson stated after securing the unanimous victory. “I took more punishment than usual, but I told you I’d do whatever it takes to get the job done.”
