Stadium Tragedy in Algeria: Three Spectators Die During MC Alger’s Title Celebration

The Algerian Ministry of Health reported a tragic incident during MC Alger’s championship celebration — three spectators died and more than 70 others were injured after falling from the stadium’s upper stands.

The injured victims were distributed across several hospitals:

• Beni Messous University Hospital treated 38 victims
• Ben Aknoun Hospital cared for 27 people
• Bab El Oued Hospital received 16 patients

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed his condolences and wished for the recovery of the injured victims.

MC Alger previously confirmed one casualty through an Instagram post: “With deep sadness we received news of the death of our supporter Younes Amguzzi who fell from the upper stands.” The club has not yet issued a statement regarding the two additional fatalities.
