Stadium Tragedy in Algeria: Three Spectators Die During MC Alger Title Celebration

The Algerian Ministry of Health reports a tragic incident during MC Alger’s title celebration — three spectators died and more than 70 others were injured after falling from the stadium’s upper stand.

The injured victims were distributed across several hospitals:

• Beni Messous University Hospital treated 38 people
• Ben Aknoun Hospital received 27 people
• Bab El Oued Hospital admitted 16 patients

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed his condolences and wished for the recovery of the injured victims. MC Alger has confirmed one of the deceased victims — Younes Amguzzi through the club’s official Instagram post, but has yet to comment on the other two fatalities.

This tragedy occurred during MC Alger’s celebration of securing their second consecutive Algerian top-flight league title.
