Sri Pahang FC withdraws from next season’s Malaysia Super League

Sri Pahang FC has officially withdrawn from the 2025-2026 Malaysia Super League — a competition scheduled to begin next month.

This decision reduces the number of participants in the Malaysia Super League to 13 teams — different from the initial plan of 14 clubs.

“Sri Pahang FC, which had received the National license for 2025-2026, has made the decision not to compete in this Malaysian League by submitting a withdrawal letter on June 16, 2025,” stated the official Malaysia Super League announcement.

The club’s withdrawal was caused by financial issues — despite previously obtaining the license to compete in the upcoming season.
